How Do You Do?

I ask this, in my best Audrey voice.

Breakfast at Tiffanys, Roman Holiday, Sabrina, and Funny Face. What do these all have in common? Why the compelling and always charming Audrey Hepburn, of course. Her romances, her magnetism, her lovely clothing, her stance; all the things I wish to acquire myself. Someday....

Dress: Roxy. Sandals: Old Navy. Shoulder Bag: Vintage. Headband: Barneys. Bracelets: Guitar strings.

love how your inspired by old school film stars! audrey defnitely is THE icon, totally time less! i am so jealous you can still wear summer clothes. i have had to dig my winter coat out of the back of my closet... it is freezing cold here!! xo

That outfit is simple sophistication! Love it!

And oh, how beautiful, and true is that quote by Audrey? I love her!

After seeing "Breakfast At Tiffany's" I believe I went about for a day or do, imitating the manner of voice of Holly Golightly, she is infectious! :D

Aw, that sounds wonderful, I hope you and your mom will get to go sometime! I remember when my mom came to visit me in NYC one time, it was such fun! Well until she had to go and started crying, and then I started crying, and I don't like to cry in public :P And we were near Times Square, so you can imagine how public that is! haha.

I love the colorful bendy kind of straws, simply ze best! :D

Oh well, thankfully I feel ok today, perhaps it was just rubbish allergies that seem to plague us all around here! ;)

Have a lovely day!

xoxo,

Love Audrey Hepburn & Hubert Givenchy...what a powerful duo that rocked the fashion world...
I'm sure they r looking down on you & gave their biggest smile...countess!

Cate said...

Gosh, this must be my favourite outfit ever!!! The simple black dress with the bow at the shoulder, the LOVELY bag... And the sandals! It's so great! Do you have black ballet flats? Or black/white ones, a la Chanel? I bet it would look great with those too, even more 60s!!
And that quote by Audrey Hepburn is just wonderful. You are the new Audrey, Erika.
I'm ashamed that I have never seen any of the films you listed - not even Breakfast at Tiffany's! At least I've removed SOME of my ignorance and finally watched Titanic (I'll write a review about it today).
"Her romances, her magnetism, her lovely clothing, her stance; all the things I wish to acquire myself." ...But you already have them, Erika...

And last but not least I wanted to thank you so much for all the comments you've ever left at my blog. I really, really appreciate every one of them. And I do hate copy/paste replies too.
Hugs & Love
Cate

Gorgeous dress! Of course, mentioning Audrey Hepburn while wearing a little black dress is entirely appropriate. If I ever have kids (which might be never since I hate brats), I'm going to name one of them Audrey after her :)

Thanks for the compliment about my outfit. When I look thru magazines, I always see so many celebrities whose outfits I like, it's hard settling on one to imitate ^^ I'm relieved you think the sweater looked good with the jeans - I was afraid it might look a bit too boring. Thanks Erika!

Oh, and no problem about the comments - I love commenting on your blog. I'm happy I made you happy ^^ And yeah, there are periods in my life when I practically live in one pair of shoes too (it used to be my black ballet flats too). Great, I'd love to see yours this fall. I always wear my ballet flats in summer, because when I wear them in cooler weather, my feet always freeze. Lucky you, it's warm over there....
But it may be that my ballet flats are especially meant for summer, because my cousin wore them once and said that she felt as if she was only wearing socks.
Yeah, I know, I need to work on my posture too (I'm always telling my dad that he should tell me to keep a straight back) - and I WISH I had all of Audrey's clothes in the films too. I so love vintage clothes!! ♥ And OK, I'll get hold of SABRINA :)

Wow, Titanic has become my fourth favourite film now. Especially/also because it's from the 90s, the decade I grew up in.... But strangely enough, I didn't cry. Maybe because I was watching it with four friends who didn't cry either.

Thanks again for everything.

xoxo Cate

Aw, yay for shared taste! :D

And aw, yay, I actually did my hair like Audrey's in BAT, that updo, but it was when my hair was a good deal shorter. I think I have too much hair now, maybe... I don't know, I could ask my sister, she's like a hair genius! That's why I am so bad at hair, she always wanted to do mine, and she's like a professional hair stylist, so I never bothered to do my own hair... and now that she's mainly wrong, I find I'm incapable of doing hair well! :P

Oh my gosh, so funny you should talk about crying over commericals, I don't often, but just last night I saw this tv ad (http://www.forbetterlife.org/be-inspired/tv.asp?id=2827) and got all choked up! Partially the song, that song is always so moving.

Hope you're having a good weekend! :)
